Provigil is a medication which helps to fight sleepiness in excess. The main cause of such sleepiness is narcolepsy or shift work disorder ( usually happens during working hours, when people experience excessive sleepiness or difficulty to fall asleep at the bed time or to stay awake when needed) Provigil together with other methods is used in prevention of sleepiness caused by sleep apnea syndrome. Sleep apnea is also a very common sleep disorder, when people don’t’ breath enough during the sleep, wake up during the night to get some air and don’t get enough sleep in general. Provigil acts by controlling the area of the brain which is responsible for a sleep/awake cycle, and promotes wakefulness.

Provigil should be taken once a day orally. It can be taken with or without food. It is recommended to check with your doctor, if there are any time preference when you better take it. Usually Provigil is taken in the morning. If you use Provigil for the treatment of shift work disorder then you better take it an hour before you start your shift. Better to take Provigil at the same time, if possible, and only change that after consulting your doctor. Provigil will only help to reduce sleepiness, but it will not treat your condition, therefore you need to continue taking Provigil even if you feel rested.

It is recommended to keep Provigil in a closed container and in places where children cant reach it. It is fine to store it at room temperature. We recommend to count how many tablets you’ve taken, so you know that nobody else is taking them.
